Granados Takes U10 Title

CTC Junior Club Closed – U10  |  Alejandro Granados dominated in the three players round-robin finals. He finished in third place in last year's finals in this event. Granados had the advantage as he has been training with the HP Development Play group. Even though he was head and shoulder above the other finalists, he claimed his first ever tournament title in this event. Don Carlo Labayo and Michael Mo both came through their respective round robin group without a loosing a match and kept that winning advantage in their semi-final matches against Klara Smid and Simon Huang respectively. Both Labayo and Mo had no answer to Granados' game in their matches against him in the finals, but Mo held the upper hand when he and Labayo met up to determine the second and third places. Mo won 6-4, 6-1.

These two players had much lesser experience than Granados but nevertheless showed lots of potential in their tennis game. All three finalists turned ten years old during the year and Labayo and Mo will have to exit the HP Green Play group and move up to the next level in 2015. They will have a full season to work on their game and will gain more match play experiences in the process.
