Steven Baumann dominated the round-robin play beating all his opponents handily except against
Sasa Davidovic. Baumann won that encounter with an 8-6 decision. That was Davidovic only lost in the round robin. Both these boys had previously won the under 10 club titles. Davidovic in 2013 and Baumann had done it in 2012. Up to this point, Baumann had not lost a match to Davidovic in their previous matches. In the final, Davidovic was determined to turn the tables on Baumann as his previous match was a close encounter. Davidovic worked on his consistency and kept the ball in play as much as he can. This no doubt forced Baumann to be a bit more aggressive, and in the process contributed to his unforced errors. The first set was over quickly at 6-2. The second set saw Baumann changed tactics and focus on keeping the ball in play, much the same as his opponent. Both boys battled through the set and as the second set was drawn to a conclusion in the tie-break, it was Davidovic turn to become more aggressive. That worked out well for Davidovic and he sealed the tie-break to secured his under 12 club champion crown.
