Three times Best Junior Player of the Year award winner Alexander Baumann has been nominated for the 4th consecutive year. Each of the last three years, the fight for this coveted award was close. Last year the fight between Baumann and Jedi Tetik was so close that it came down to who had the most consistent results.
Who is going to take home this award this year? Who is the best at Coquitlam Tennis Club? This is Tetik last year in the junior ranks. Has he done enough this year to snatch it from Baumann? Is Eddie Wu's successful breakthrough season good enough to take this crown from the reigning winner? What about Baumann's buddy Steven Shen? Will he still be standing in Baumann's shadow or is this his year to reign supreme? No girl has won this award since Jamie Salvo did in 1997. Will Vanessa Mansfield beat all the boys and show them who is the best, a girl?
Baumann's third win last year tied Arif Mulji's three Best Boy Player of the Year wins. In those days the award was split between the best boy and best girl. Nadia Wilkinson still holds the most wins with five Best Girl Player of the Year awards. Will Alexander Baumann goes into the history book as a four times winner?
