El Nino Shows Up for Another Visit

2015 Registration  |  Are you all enjoying the incredible 'winter' we are having? El Nino has shown up on our door steps once more, his first since 2010. Looks like he is staying put for a long while. And thanks to him, we have been enjoying the warmer days and nights for the past many weeks.

It felt like April already and it felt like we should be starting our tennis lessons now. Not quite yet, another five plus weeks to go. Our 2015 registration brochure is currently available and the registration is now open. (The pdf link is on the top left corner.)

Most of the lesson groups remain the same as last year except for the High Performance sessions. The HP groups have been affected by the Coquitlam Open tournament moved from beginning of May to mid August and is now combined with our Coquitlam Junior Open Championships tournament. The new two weeks tournament also includes the Rookie Tour and Future Stars Tour divisions on the first Sunday for juniors. The Competition and Development divisions will spread over the weekdays and matches will be scheduled during the day while the adult divisions will be held during the evening and weekends.

2015 will also be the Coquitlam Tennis Club 50th anniversary of serving the community with tennis. Yes fifty years young! We have the largest and the most active memberships among our tri-cities neighbours. For the past 30 years we are the only one among the three cities with a junior program. That's as far back as I can tell. We have become the biggest and the most successful outdoor community program in BC.

Hope to see most of the old faces and new ones too when the season begins on March 28th!
