Victoria Day Long Weekend | The first two junior outdoor tournaments in the lower mainland are fast approaching. The Coquitlam Junior Spring Challenger will be held from Friday, May 20 to Monday, May 23. Likewise on the same long weekend, the Hollyburn Junior Champs Classic will also be going on but will start a day earlier. Sanctioned by Tennis BC, both these tournaments are tied in with each other. The Hollyburn tournament is a nationals selections tournament and the draw sizes are limited to 32 for boys and 16 for girls. If requested, those players who are not selected are placed in the Coquitlam tournament.
Both tournaments offer singles events in the under 12, 14, 16 and 18 age categories in the boys and girls divisions. The Coquitlam tournament is also offering the under 10 event. The under 10 events will be played on full court but with EasyPlay balls. First match consolation events have also been planned. Junior players can register online or through regular mail. Do note that both tournaments share the same online registration page. Entries close on Friday, May 13 at 5 pm.
Any current junior members of the Coquitlam Tennis Club who enter in this tournament will receive a discounted fee of only $10 per entry.
