Emanuele Keeps Winning

Day ThreeCoquitlam Junior Spring Challenger | North Saanich's Ryan Emanuele continues his winning ways in the Boys' U14 event. Today he played against the No. 3 seed George Luca of Port Moody and came away with another 3 sets victory. Emanuele won the encounter 6-3, 3-6, and 6-4. He will next face the No. 2 seed Jake Perkins of Vancouver. Perkins defeated Rory Long of Delta, seeded No. 8, 6-2, 6-3. On the top half of the draw, No. 1 seed Brendan Guay was easily defeated by Tian Xu Wen of Richmond, in score of 6-1, 6-0. Over in the Boys' U16 singles, the remaining 2 of the top 4 seeds won their respective matches. The No. 4 seeded player Kamil Ladhani beat No.5 seed Amir Salehnia 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in their quart-finals match. Daniel Dziamaga, seeded No. 3 had an easy win over Gregory Kuchta. Dziamaga will next take on Port Coquitlam Jedi Telik. The last semi-finals spot went to Thomas Stokes of West Vancouver. He fought back from a 6-0 first set deficit to take the next two sets 6-2, 6-3. He will face Ladhani in the first semi-finals.

After a disappointing loss yesterday for CTC's Claudia Longauer in the Girls' U18 round-robin event, she came out fighting against her Maple Ridge opponent. Longauer took the first set 6-3. She was leading 5-4 in the second set, before Khendyl Gluck tied the match at 6-6, and went on to take the tie-break. The third set was fought closely, but Gluck eventually won it 6-4.
